Do you really think that a private oyster dealer would lease 23,000 acres out of the kindness of their heart to rebuild oyster reefs to create better opportunities for all? Sustainable Texas Oyster Resource Management, LLC (S.T.O.R.M.) which is owned by one of the largest private oyster dealers on the Gulf Coast (Jeri’s Seafood in Anahuac, Texas) wants you to believe that.

STORM’s 30 year lease agreement with the Chambers-Liberty Counties Navigation District (CLCND) would give them more power than the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department and other agencies. At least their acting like it will. Just take a look at the threat letter sent by STORM to the regional director of the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department.
